Graley I really loved this and thanks for the shoutout. I am all in on the Cincinnati series. There’s something fascinating about putting a geographic frame around a series of concerts and it makes me want to think back to our own Chicago experiences with this approach. I love the train wreck of Bob’s voice in this period and hearing it on Lovesick in particular was so good - a perfect fit for the song.

Thanks, Roberta! I'm glad to hear that the Cincinnati series is working for you. I hope some future publisher agrees! But in any case, it's fun doing these deep dives with Shadow Chasing readers, and this format has the big advantage of allowing me to share the recordings as well. I agree with you about "Love Sick."

I hope someone will do a Dylan in Chicago series one of these days. Not surprisingly, he's played even more shows in your area than in mine. But it will need to be an insider who knows the city well and has a deep personal stake in forging civic connections with Dylan's performances. I can't write that one, but I sure would love to read it!

Beautiful essay. I could not make any of these shows for reasons big and small, and it was a real bummer at the time and certainly since then. These cuts sound great!
